"Devices for Activism" is a dynamic studio that empowers students to harness the power of design and creativity to advocate for social causes and drive positive change. In this studio, participants will explore the multifaceted world of activism, focusing on the design of two-dimensional graphics, symbolic objects, and the choreography of events as tools for raising awareness and sparking action beyond language barriers. Students will utilize graphic design, data visualization, digital design (including computer-aided drafting and 3D modeling), and prototyping techniques to craft interactive devices, objects, and installations with a clear emphasis on addressing pressing societal issues. High school students will learn to transform their creative potential into powerful tools for raising awareness, instigating action, and driving change in their communities and the world at large.
